Memoria
A downloadable ritual
Memoria is a storytelling ritual from a distant realm. You'll recall strange myths and piece together the lives of the mythic figures who inhabit them. While the ritual is simple to learn, the stories you uncover are rich and layered, and each recollection will leave you with more questions about the world and its inhabitants.
By combining different myths, archetypes, and roles, every session becomes unique. In time, there are more options to discover, revealed as you perform the ritual again and again and explore the nature of identity, legacy, time, and memory.

Every participant will recall a mythic figure using an archetype: a collection of mysteries, destines, and expressions that help guide you. Each archetype sheet comes with a timeline, and every time you recall a myth, you will add to it, in any order you choose. As you recall more and more, an entire history will be pieced together.
Each myth, you will decide on their mood, waxing or waning, which informs how you might recall your mythic figure's appearance and behaviour. Sometimes they will begin a myth in one mood and end it in another.
Every myth is a remnant of a story, and old and important story, in which several people played a part. Each myth lists several roles, which each participant will take on, like the hunter, the maiden, or the shaper. These roles will overlay your archetype, combining to create a unique version of a mythic figure at a particular point in their life.
Every myth has a series of scenes, some which must be recalled in order, but others which may be moved around as you see fit.
Every myth has rulings, which are revealed when their conditions are met.
- Combine sheets to bring a new version of your character to every session.
- Recall your character at a different point in their life each session, in any order you choose.
- Each myth takes 2–4 hours to recall, and represents a single chapter in your story.
- Each myth has a unique participant count, some requiring up to seven, others no more than one.
- Scene outlines and simple divination tools guide the story, but the participants are in charge of recalling the details together without dice rolls.
- While sessions can be played with the same group, there is no requirement for each session to have the exact same participants, and they do not have to bring the same archetypes each time.
- The continuing story is personal to each participant and their figure, shared by those who witness it.
- Everyone shares in the telling; no single "master" holds the reigns.
Memoria is a work in progress. A crowdfunding campaign for a physical edition is planned for Fall 2026. The planned format is a hardcover, cloth-bound, 6 x 9" book alongside a digital PDF.
This version of the game is a free playtest version. It will be updated as more materials become available up until the release of the full game. Upon project completion, this version will be retired, and the digital PDF edition will become available as a separate product.
Donations help with development costs, but are entirely optional. The final price for Memoria is yet to be determined.
Memoria is being developed by Julien Legault, owner of Starlight Grove, based in Toronto, Canada.

I love this game, I can't wait to see how it develops. I've playtested it a number of times and each session really stuck with me. Big game for the myth freaks.
